Saxophonist and Flautist Dave Schiavone has toured nationally and internationally with bands such as Woody Herman, Tommy Dorsey and Doc Severinson. He has also performed with the likes of Nancy Wilson, Natalie Cole, Harry Connick Jr., Johnny Mathis and many more.
Dave resides in Western New York as well as part-time in Timmendorfer Strand, Germany. He leads a quartet here which has been in existence since 1997, and in the past two years has formed a European edition of this quartet, which has performed at the Lubeck Jazz Festival in Germany.
Dave is a very active Jazz educator in the area, serving as director of the University at Buffalo Jazz Ensemble and Combos, and the Canisius Jazz Ensemble. He is also on Staff as saxophone instructor at Buffalo State College, Villa Maria College and runs an extensive private teaching studio.
