Don Menza is no stranger to the Western New York Jazz scene. Although he hasn't
lived in Buffalo since the mid 60's he does return to play at local jazz venues at least once a year. This includes Buffalo,Toronto,Rochester.Montreal, Ottawa and once again this year at the Lewiston Jazz Festival. After years of playing and writing with such notables as BuddyRich, Louie Bellson,Maynard Ferguson,Stan Kenton,Benny Carter and Henry Mancini Don has continued to travel the world as soloist,composer,arranger and has recorded numerous albums under his own name. More recently he has recorded 3 albums with his long time friend Ron Corsaro. April 2011 saw the release of a new ballad album recorded in Europe with his European rhythm section. His successful tours of Europe have taken him through all of Scandinavia, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy but he still says that his most rewarding times are returning "home" to upstate New York.
