Carol Mclaughlin has enjoyed being in the Buffalo music scene since 1977. Before that, Carol was the Music Director for a cruise ship line. Carol led a quintet, ‘Carol McLaughlin and Magnitude’ at the Famous Anchor Bar from 1983 until 1994. In that time the group was named ‘Buffalos Best Jazz Group’ twice and Carol was voted the ‘Buffalos Best Jazz Horn Player’. Carol played with the Buffalo Jazz Workshop under the leadership of Sam Falzone and Al Tinney. Playing the Albright Art Gallery’s steps every Sunday from July to September. Currently, Carol heads a 17 piece band which rehearses at the Colored Musicians Club, 145 Broadway, Buffalo. Every Thursday they open the doors to the public for a FREE rehearsal. This band includes musicians of the highest caliber; Sam Noto, Phil Sims and Sam Falsone. Rehearsal open from 8pm – 10pm Thursdays. Carol’s other credits include playing with Johnny Mathis, Ruth Brown, Brook Benton and recorded with Arranger, Composer, and Trombonist Melba Liston.
