Katy Miner Quartet

Katy Miner, voted one of Buffalo’s favorite jazz vocalists, is a vocal chameleon – covering jazz, pop, broadway and classical. Born and raised in Western New York, Katy spent several years in both Northern and Southern California, recording and collaborating with local artists, producers and songwriters, including Grammy nominated Cori Jacobs (George Clinton, Tina Marie, Pussycat Dolls, Lauryn Hill), Kevin Irving (Dr. Dre, Bruno Mars, Ne-Yo, Truth Hurts, Club Nouveau), and Grammy nominated Jim Gardiner of Touch-Tone Productions (John Lee Hooker, Kenny G, Brain McKnight, Vanessa Williams, Grover Washington Jr., George Benson, Ron Carter, Sammy Davis Jr., Donny Hathaway, Bobby Hutcherson, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Barry White).

She currently sings with the Katy Miner Jazz Quintet and the Cabaret Big Band with arranger/trombonist, Phil Sims (Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin, Mel Tormé, Doc Severinsen, The Buffalo Brass, John Stevens), and local fav, Sugar Katty Cool, a 3-part harmony jazz vocal group.

 A former section leader for the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus, Katy has also performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a sought-after vocalist for background vocals, commercials and arranging, and occasionally works as an actress in the Buffalo area at various theaters.
