ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE

Join us at the Great American Songbook Celebration at the Northwest Jazz Festival on August 24th for an enchanting evening with "Accentuate the Positive." Taking inspiration from Bing Crosby's 1944 hit song, Jazz at the Ballroom presents a night filled with unforgettable music that brought Americans everything from inspiration to consolation during some of the country’s darkest moments from the 1920s through the 1940s.

The evening will include the Konrad Paszkudzki Trio's elegant performance of "Night and Day," setting the stage for a night filled with classic charm. The charismatic Wyatt Michael, known for his performances on "The Voice," will join the trio, bringing his smooth vocals to beloved standards like "I've Got a Crush on You." His renditions are sure to evoke the golden era of jazz.

The talented Olivia Chindamo will grace the stage, delivering enchanting versions of songs such as "Let's Face the Music and Dance,” showcasing her unique vocal style and captivating presence.

As the program unfolds, trombonist Rob Edwards and vocalist Vanessa Perea will combine for an exquisite duet, enchanting the audience with timeless pieces like "Love is Here to Stay.” Their chemistry and vocal harmony will add a special touch to the evening.

Adrian Cunningham will close out the night, accompanied by the trio and possibly joined by Rob Edwards for an unforgettable finale. With joyful tunes like "Pennies from Heaven," Cunningham's performance will leave the audience in high spirits.

The grand finale will feature a rousing rendition of "Accentuate the Positive," bringing together as many of the ensemble members as possible for a spirited conclusion that celebrates the positivity and enduring charm of the Great American Songbook.
