Stu Weissman has been a fixture on the Buffalo Jazz scene since the early 70s when he first appeared with the James Clark led "Unity Band" featuring vocalist Joanne McDuffy of The Mary Jane Girls. He went on to co-lead the CPG's famous Monday night jam sessions. The 80s saw Stu leading his 67th Ave fusion band and playing guitar in the Buffalo Jazz Workshop where he brought back the summer jazz concerts at the Albright Knox which are still going on today.
He was an adjunct instructor of guitar at Buffalo State College for nearly two decades.

After raising two very capable (and caring) musician sons, his "later years" have him working with nearly every female jazz vocalist in the city, holding down the guitar in Joe Baudo's weekly Wednesdays at Sportsmens, the monthly Jazz night at Mason's Grille with keyboardist Bob White, numerous and varied projects at Pausa Art House which include 10,000 Maniacs lead singer Mary Ramsey and his Swing St. band. Stu is slinging his archtops everywhere he can and has recently taken to singing in performance.

He is honored to be a featured Northwest Jazz Festival artist.
